About Adco

Adco began manufacturing retread tyres in 1956, primarily passenger tyres in the hot cure process. Eleven years later we started producing both hot and pre-cured truck tyre retreads, switching solely to the pre-cured method in 1983, and to the present day.

Retreads are manufactured by Adco to the highest standards and specifications with particular attention paid to detail. The materials we use in the retreading process are all of the highest quality, from treads to repair units. To reinforce Adco's comitment to quality, the company became a member of the RMA (Retread Manufacturers Association) in 1989.

As an independent retreading producer, we can purchase any of the highest quality retreading materials available, and attention to consistent quality has always been our primary concern.

This point is endorsed by the fact that Adco Distributors (NI) began producing retreaded tyres for Bridgestone/Firestone UK in 1996 following the strictest acceptance criteria.

On the 1st January 2004 Adco attained ECE Regulation 109 for Commercial Vehicles Retreads and is also iso registered.

Based at the Seagoe Industrial Estate in Portadown, Co Armagh, we consider ourselves to be a truly environmentally friendly company.

Remember, RETREADING IS RECYCLING! Every time you buy and use a retreaded tyre, you help to conserve our valuable natural resources and since retreaded tyres are always less expensive than comparable new tyres, you save money while helping the environment.

This is truly a win-win situation.

Retreads are environmentally friendly. Tyres are basically petrochemical products.
It takes 22 gallons of oil to manufacture one new truck tyre.
Most of the oil is found in the casing, which is reused in the retreading process. As a result,
it takes only 7 gallons of oil to produce a retread.
